Another exciting week in Holly Class as we set off to the Danby Moors Centre with Beech Class on Monday. The trip was based around the story of 'The Woodlings and the Wish Dragon' and was full of exciting activities from the minute we arrived!

Holly class went inside first with a lady called Julie from the Moors Centre and each collected a woodling template on which they drew a face. They then collected natural materials from the gardens to make clothes.

We then returned with our leaves and flowers to decorate our woodlings which I am sure you will agree turned out beautifully.

After making our woodlings we split into three groups and experimented with balloons ,blue tack, string and wooden posts to see who could make the wish dragon fly the furthest. The balloons were not very successful in our group so we opted to use a blue tack weight during the final race.I am delighted to tell you my group won the final challenge and our dragon came in first !!!

After lunch we swopped over and set off into the woods.Julie read the children the first part of the story and we began looking for the houses of the woodlings hidden around the forest.

We followed the story through the woods until we finally reached the wish dragon. The children each whispered a wish to the wish dragon and look forward to their wishes coming true.

A brilliant time was had by all and many of the children said they would love to return.Thank you to Mrs Bartlett and Mrs Bellew for coming with us to help it was very much appreciated.
