11th November

It’s been another busy but fun week in Ash class! This week we have been continuing to write our spooky stories. We have looked at good examples of spooky stories and borrowed words and phrases to improve our own. We had an inspiring writing session in the woods on Wednesday – Mr Bates scared us in different ways to try and help us put into words what it is like to be scared so that we could use it in our writing. There was quite a bit of screaming!!

In Circle time this week we had a great debate about the USA Presidential elections. We talked about what had happened in the world this week and why, and discussed our views on it too. Rosie was not impressed with the results! We also had a special assembly today to mark Remembrance Day.

In geography we revised map symbols and how to use a compass – we all remembered ‘put red to bed’ after our orienterring at Danby.

We our proud of Rhys and Billy this week as they have become our first Tables Masters! They know all of their tables and can answer 96 questions in just 5 minutes!!

Well done to John who is our Stakesby Star – he has worked hard in everything this week and made lots of contributions in class. He also won a trophy at his football club this week so success all round John, well done!

Thank you to Jude from Elm Class. He taught us how to make paper aeroplanes today – he is an expert and makes brilliant ones!

A massive well done to Daniel too who competed in swimming gala at the weekend. Didn't he do well?!
