Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

There is a lot of speculation in the news at the moment about using the summer break for children to attend catch-up sessions.

Up to today, 10th June, no plans or directions have been received from the Government about this.

Our group of schools, the Enquire Learning Trust, has prepared this statement to share with all of our communities:

The Rt. Hon. Gavin Williamson MP (Secretary or State for Education), recently told parliament that, “There are currently no plans to make up class time lost during the lockdown by requiring pupils to return early from their holidays in August.”

All the Enquire Learning Trust academies will close as usual for the summer holidays. This includes our child-care provision for vulnerable pupils and the children of key workers. This Academy will close on Friday 17th July at 1pm. This will allow essential works to take place in school and key preparations to be made to ensure a successful start to the new school year for all children.

The new school year will begin on Tuesday 8th September .

We will keep this under review should we receive further instructions from the Department of Education.

As always, we will share any changes as soon as possible via our normal channels.
